There are only 32 days left. That doesn’t mean shopping days to Christmas.
According to popular prophecies, there are only 32 days left until December 21, 2012, and the end of the world. If that is true, then don’t worry about shopping for Christmas.
We are coming to the end of our Liturgical Year. The Church teaches all we need to know about the End Times. Our scripture readings speak of the End Times. The prophet Daniel, giving us God’s words, says of the End of the World,
“At that time there shall arise Michael, the great prince, guardian of your people; it shall be a time unsurpassed in distress since nations began until that time. At that time your people shall escape, everyone who is found written in the book. “Many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake; some shall live forever, others shall be an everlasting horror and disgrace.
This is the first time that the Old Testament begins to speak of the Resurrection.
Jesus, in the Gospel says,
“In those days after that tribulation the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will be falling from the sky, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken. “And then they will see ‘the Son of Man coming in the clouds’ with great power and glory, and then he will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the end of the earth to the end of the sky.
There will be an end to time. Let’s carefully remember that “Time” is a creature. Time is not eternal. Time is not co-eternal with God. God created Time. God lives outside of Time. God does not depend upon Time. God doesn’t need Time. Time is a creature, with a beginning and an end. Time was created for man. The sign we use for “infinity” is a symbol that stands for time or numbers beyond our ability to count them. But the truth is that Time is not eternal. Time itself is finite.
Jesus told us when he came, “The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.” Jesus is God. Where God is there is heaven. There is no heaven without God. There is no eternal life without God. We cannot have eternal life without God. We must be with God to know eternal life.
We must not seek eternal life in Time. Time is of this world. When Time ends, this world ends. Time is not eternal. If we seek our destiny in Time and in this World, we will never know heaven. If we choose not God, if we reject Him and rebel against Him in order to choose our destine in the World and in Time, then we will have chosen not to be among God’s “chosen”,
“his elect from the four winds, from the end of the earth to the end of the sky.”
God has told us through Daniel, that many will live forever with God, but others will be damned;
“Many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake; some shall live forever, others shall be an everlasting horror and disgrace.”
So, for those who love the world more than God, it may well be that there are only 33/32 days left. These popular prophecies should frighten those who love the World too much. Their fear should be of
“everlasting horror and disgrace.”
For those who love God and choose to remain with him and not rebel against him, choosing the World instead of Him shall live forever.
Do not fear. He is coming. This is our Faith.
